If you are interested or planning on coming, please give me a heads up so I can let my plot staff know! I can also try to arrange sleeping spaces for you! Hope to see you there! Sande, what is Northlands policy on kids under 14? My son is 12 and I'd like to bring him down with me for the event. He's played Detroit, Ogre, NCN, and Cincinnati so far.
Also, who else is planning on coming down? I've heard that John and Matt are making the trip, along with Bud and Tyler from the sounds of things. I'd like to get an idea so I can decide which of my many characters I'd have the most fun with.
Actually, Sande, maybe you can help? What's the chapter like? My characters range from 2nd to almost 30th, with most level ranges covered in between. Is it a high level chapter? Is it a heavy roleplay chapter?
Decisions, decisions...

Bill - I was actually getting ready to post this very important announcement.
Redstone, the November event, has a LEVEL CAP of 20. This means characters are to be reduced however they feel to 214 build. This does not effect body points, only build.
Most of our players are mid level to low. At 18th level, I'm higher level than most of the town.
We're also a smaller chapter, averaging 10-15 players a game. This game might be a bit bigger since I've been recruiting heavily.
I don't think anyone will have a problem with you bringing your son. Every once in a while someone will cuss, but there is rarely a situation I feel that would not be kid friendly. He of course would be a page, but I am confident that he understands those limitations.
I tend to think of it as a more hack and slash game, but I'll get some other opinions and get back to you.

Oh, because I'm not sure if it's going on everywhere, has Northlands moved into 9th edition?

Okay, I have requested that friday off of work, still waiting on my boss to okay it but there shouldn't be an issue. Next step, figure out who all is going down. I figure I'll start a list here and if Bill of Jay or whoever want to make a new thread to get it organized that would work too. From my immediate knowledge these are the people that I know plan on going. Apologies now if I use character names. XD
Myself Jay Bill Ceilyn (I think?) John Matt
And to those that live up my way, who'd like to carpool? Because gas might be going down, but a trip to ohio is still a bit of cash. I'd be willing to drive, but I can hold 4 others only in my car with a light load for each on the trunk.

Im pretty bummed I cant make it out. I really wish I could, but one of my co-workers has committed involuntary manslaughter and we wont be able to cover shifts for a month at least. This is really crummy because Ive never been to an out of state chapter.

What is the cost for a northlands event?
Does the site have bunks, electricity, running water, showers, heating?
Do you have a tavern/food service? If so, how does it work (IG money, OOG Money, what sort of prices)?
What is the address of your game site? (I would like to gauge drive distance)
Thanks, Evan

(I would like to gauge drive distance) Thanks, Evan Evan - Bunks - We're lucky enough to have heated and air conditioned bunks. There are bunk beds located in alcoves each with their own light and outlet. There are bathrooms and showers. Tavern - Our tavern is usually a simple affair. We have trouble getting tavern keepers so it's generally a last minute effort of our owner roping someone into it. Very cheap prices for OOG cash for each item. Our players generally give the tavern keep $10-$15 then the tavern keep keeps a tab for you. Any unspent money is given back to you as you leave. IF there are food issues, please let me know. Cost - $40 for the weekend Address - This is the address for our camp at Rolling Hills: 1 S Rangeline Rd. Pleasant Hill, Ohio 45359 IMPORTANT NOTE! If you are looking at google maps, it is not in fact the empty corn field that we are playing in! If you look at the map, just at the bend where S Range Line Rd turns into W Laughman Rd, there is a bendy unnamed road that goes off into some trees. THAT is the camp. It is a Girl Scout camp. ADDED INFO: the email address to submit your character sheets is: nero@neronorthlands.com I am SO excited for my friends from the "far north" to come join me!
