While driving in to work this morning, I was rocking Manowar tunes (not uncommon), and I was struck that on the same album, I heard what could be two theme songs of two different factions in the current Sanctuary area.
There is Tarnian and the Company of Blight, with their promise of noble intentions, but methods beyond the pale. For them, an appropriate theme song is Manowar's Power.
Then there is the town of Sanctuary. Although there are different factions with different motivations, we stand together against those that would threaten the land. For us, an appropriate theme song is Manowar's Brothers of metal.
So now, whenever I hear these two songs, I will be thinking of the Company of Blight and its Blood Pack raiding and pillaging, and the town of Sanctuary standing together in the face of steep odds.
And that, my friends, is why NERO (and Manowar) is awesome.

Geez! Those hurt my ears! No I'm kidding, they do make sense though I am not a fan of metal. If you asked me what my favorite song was right now it would be a country song or something from a Broadway production XD

Don't get me wrong--I love country music, but it doesn't get me fired up for NERO like Manowar and metal. I think it's because I grew up playing NERO rocking that stuff.

I am lucky to even touch the radio on the way to an event! Yeah I know what you mean though.

As much as I hate the song, Three Inches of Blood- Slay the Orcs is goofy enough and 'epic' sounding.

I don't know... while I love those songs, I have always felt that this would be the most appropriate theme song for Tarnian...

You bastard. Although I had avoided this nonsense until now, I finally caved. And I will never get those minutes back, or that catchy tune out of my head. If I subconsciously start humming it as I run Tarnian through, please do not take it in game.

LoL! That's awesome, Pat.
On a similar note, this is how Assitanious often feels when he visits Sanctuary these days:

"HES THE MOTHERFUCKING PTERODACTYL HERE TO TEAR YOU A NEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW ASSHOLE!!!!" Me and Jay jam out to that song!
I think a Justin Bieber song would be more important to describe how I feel in NERO. Just kidding, I am 14 not 4!
Mostly because I am obsessed with the Hunger Games, but this is how I feel when I am at NERO, especially at this event when Tora was curled up in the corner of the warded cabin crying, there all alone, while her friends were being killed xD Nothing better than a little T-Swizzle.
Or
My favorite band The Civil Wars
Just realized both those songs feature The Civil Wars, eh whatever they are a great band....
Awesome songs!

Bill, The wonderful irony of you posting that video about how Assitanious feels when visiting Sanctuary is that I am playing Gaeric almost exactly the same as the man behind the counter. Seriously. Eddie Izzard is what inspired almost all of my character's mannerisms, way of speaking, sense of humor about Tyrra, and general lack of concern or care for bigger and badder things that could easily kill him - all based in whimsical ignorance. Love it. -Eric PS - This is my personal "Gearing Up for Another Weekend of NERO" theme music: youtu.be/THdRs7grqhE
