To Whom it Concerns,
Sanctuary has become more than just a home to many of us. It has become a point of pride, a piece of us in such a way that it cannot ever be taken back. It is not too bold to say that we saw Sanctuary through some of the darkest times in recent history and it is not too bold to say that we all came out of it different than when we had gone to recover the lost city in the wilds. In Sanctuary we discovered so much, learned truths not meant for our ears and fought against the unbreathing horde of the Graveyard of the Four Winds and survived. That’s what Sanctuary was, survival. My father Tesloke Arginhane had one vision for Sanctuary… to prove that within all manner of evil, good can survive. We endured until evil had nothing left to throw upon us. We fought back, tooth and nail until the darkness that surrounded Sanctuary revealed a light.
So I bring the official word of the Kingdom of Evandarr, deeming Sanctuary a safe place for citizens of Evandarr to live and prosper. As many of you know, I have been trying to secure my claim for Sanctuary as a free land, outside the borders of Sanctuary to be ruled by its own. But it is with a heavy heart that I must inform you all that my claim cannot be verified. My uncle Larrin Arginhane and myself have spent the last few months in Evandarr City speaking to the courts to verify the claim, but details have come to light.
Count Edmund McDougal’s court mages brought forth evidence pointing that invalidates Larrin as a trustworthy source of information. It is now believed that when he put himself into his golem body there may have been a flaw in the ritual that caused discrepancies in his memory. With this, his word that I am the son of Tesloke Arginhane has been nullified and it has been asked that I bring forth more evidence towards the fact. Aside from Larrin’s word… I have no proof.
The courts have deemed that my claim is invalid until I can prove otherwise and will now fall under Evandarrian control as per the right of succession. Now under Evandarrian control and law, it is being designated as a northern military outpost to assess possible threats and will be enforced by a battalion of Count McDougal’s own troops.
I will be taking my leave from the Sanctuary in the next few weeks, and I hope to see all of you in the future and may Tyrra guide your feet to adventure and glory.
Sincerely,
Armond Soot
