Would it be possible to get a list of the playtests that are in use for this Chapter?
Thanks, Evan

Since we are invoking the Ninth Edition rules for this coming event, we will be following the ninth edition mandate that does not allow play tests until there are officially licensed play tests endorsed by national.
This does not change our limited list of non-standard effects that have been in place at our events and can be found in a separate post.

Im not sure what that means.
I was referring to the list of playtests that are on the nero national website, are those officially licensed play tests endorsed by national? If not, where can I find the endorsed ones? If those are the endorsed ones, which ones are being used at Metro events? (Im mostly curious about Limited reset and the crafting enhancement one).
Thanks, Evan

Evan,
With next event we're jumping to 9th edition, with as far as I know, tosses all playtests out of the window as there are no official 9th edition playtests. But I'm not positive on that. But that is what I've heard and it seems that Bill is saying.

The playtests listed on the national website are officially licensed, however they are only officially licensed for 8th edition rules. There are no officially licensed playtests for 9th edition.
However, the two you mentioned have been addressed in the 9th edition rules. For example, chapters have the option of allowing a limited reset at 6am per the rulebook. We will continue to allow this limited reset.
Further, production skills have been changed in 9th edition. Here are a few snippets:
1. Master level production (20 levels) give additional levels of production.
2. Silver or production components can be used to add extra crafting levels.
3. Workshops can be used to add extra production levels.
For example, a 20th level alchemist can produce 80 levels of production with all of the above.
Further, there are strebgthened armor and weapins can be created with smithing that allow them to have higher values than their reps (armor), swing more damage (weapons), and to resist shatters (both). Much of the smithing playtest was incorporated into the game in this way.

Some of the playtests on the nerolarp.com website are less then a month old. Ninth edition has been out since the start of the year...why start new playtests for an edition of the rules that is being phased out.
While I understand what your saying, in some ways it increases my confusion instead of removing it.

If you visit the national forums, they explain the strangeness of coming out with 6-month playtests at a time when chapters are required to go to ninth edition within the next 5 months.
The explanation is that some chapters, primarily in Ohio, have been using non-sanctioned play tests for years now. In an effort to bring those chapters into the fold of the national game, the play tests are being sanctioned now, after the fact. For as long as those chapters cling to 8th edition, they will be able to use those play tests.
