What would people think about doing a semi-regular fighter practice--say, every few weeks or month? The goal would be to have some fun, have an opportunity to practice kicking eachothers' butts, and show new players what the game is like. It would also help give us our fix as we wait between events. These practices would require little to no Bill/Jay/Jordan involvement, as there would be no plot (unless, of course, they wanted to be there to get their butts kicked by the PCs ;-)). It's all picking up weapons and packets, teaming up, and destroying eachother. Rinse. Repeat.
There is, of course, the question is where to host the days. Depending on the number of people, we could do it at my house or at a more public location like a state park.
Ideally, we could have access to monster camp's weapons so people--especially new players--could try out different weapon combinations and whatnot. Bill and Jay, is there any way we could get access to the trailer if we put together such practices?
What are your thoughts?

I've tried the idea before, but it fell a little flat, mostly due to lack of coordination on my part believe. But I do love the idea as practive makes perfect and I am by no means a great fighter. And if I'm correct, unless T.J were to make it out it would be pretty hard for the monster camp's weapons to be available. But I may be incorrect.
But on the upside, I still have quite the arsenal floating around my house and I'm usually making more and more so should we have a need for something I'm usually happy to make them. Keep me in the loop on this one, I know lots of people that are trying to get into LARPing and this might be a first great step.

Who is available and interested in something like this on Saturday, October 22 or Saturday, October 29? I've got probably 3-5 people on my end. If we could get even 3-5 more, it'd be worth it.
Keeping it simple is probably the key to making it happen. So I say we do it at my house, and omit the trailer access. Just bring what weapons and packets you have, and between all of us, hopefully we'll have enough.
Hope it works out!

I'm interested, but those two weekends I'm unavailable.

I am likewise interested and those two weekends are bad for me. If I can make it to one of the practises, even if it is not the first/next one, I will offer to build extra weapons for loaning. Also, I have a bucket of packets I have helped pick up on Sunday clean-ups from all three events I have attended.
I believe this is a very good idea and look forward to it as I am in desperate need of fighting skills (oog and in-game)!

I work in a restaurant so my schedule is crazy and never replicated. I would only know if I could attend a week ahead of time. However, love the idea, dig seeing all you hip cats, Im down. Alos, might be able to do it at my old shack in the burbs, 14 Mile/Ryan in Warren. Got an acre for a backyard, no trees though.
