Well, if it helps, count me in as a paying visitor. On that note, I'm willing to chip in a little more than my share to help defray the costs for others.
I'm of the opinion that there will be others similarly willing to pay a little extra if the need arises. Let's not let a little money get in the way of getting this together. I am sure that we can make the financial end of things work out.

Agreed, Bill. We've got to make it happen one way or the other!
I started a separate poll to try to see where the critical mass wanted to hold this thing. I am game for any of the locations.
I don't know much about Michael's set up, but if we do it at my house, it's a private rural backyard with neighbors obscured by trees (and who are cool in any event). We can have as big a fire as we want, and drink as much as we want, although obviously people will need to be responsible for themselves and provide their own beverages.
I am sure Fort Custer would be cool, but not being able to drink would be a bit of a downer.
Michael, what's your setup like? You are more central than me.

Thanks for creating the Poll! I think that it is a good idea. I will be answering once Mike has a chance to describe the set up a little better so that I know what I am voting on. Just so you know, wherever this ends up being held at Dave and I will be attending. Though I am leaning toward one of the houses as the gas to get there will be less in the long run then the price of the cabin since we needed to book for two days instead of one. That, and I know how much people were looking forward to the relaxed atmosphere where drinking was allowed. (and Joe, I did like the jeans idea as you know. lol).

Sorry for the couple of poll iterations. I think that I finally got it right, with Bill's input, to capture what information we need to pick the place that works best for everyone.
Does anyone know if there are any PCs that came to the last event that do not read these boards? Sir Rykus, the lemur guy, Xavier, the half ogre guys, and any number of others that might be interested in participating? If so, I think it's worth notifying them however we can so they can check in and let us know if they are interested.

Post something on the Facebook group?
I sent a Text message to Ceilyn.
Xavier checks the boards every couple days from what I have seen (account Renb).
Not sure about Rykus.
Lemur guy should be covered by Neville checking the boards.

I do not have a large yard and I do have 2 large dogs. My back yard is wooded with trails too. I wanted to throw it out there that this could also take place at my home in Kalamazoo.

Sorry for the delay, I mostly read this board between midnight and 2 am.
My yard is 12 acres, the front 6 are horse pasture and the back 6 acres are wild. The "swampy" areas are only seasonally wet with less than a acre growing cat tails. I would have to mow a place for camping but I'm quite willing to do so. As for bathrooms, there's the house at the front of the property or the bushes.
The property is on a private road and mostly surrounded by farm fields, so camp fires and loud larpers are not a problem.
The biggest plus to this area is that we can build whatever we want for a larp village (like a tavern and smithy) and leave it there permanently. I had originally wanted to introduce my wife to you all at the last game before offering our back 6 acres, but an offer is an offer.
So, yes, it is wild and unrefined, but it is an opportunity to make and In-game village that is still there in-between-games.
Evan or Joe (or others): If you are out and about this weekend, and find yourself driving up I69 from Battlecreek, give me a call and you can stop in to check the place out.
Michael Elliott sends.
PS: If anybody knows how to get exact up-close images from google maps, I'll post a link.

Actually they had a beautiful ceremony last year. However, now there are states that can make it official so they need to go get a license. and yes, we were all in garb but no, I don't think there is going to be a repeat wedding regardless of if I can reborrow the noble garb. lol. Though John, if you have another one do it after September's event cause Dave is letting me buy new garb thanks to the filming! lol.

I only have another 40 days to get insurance so we need to get this done quick. We had our ceremony 10/10/10 so now to make it legal seeing that IL has legalized civil unions. I would really like to attend the meeting as I have (will have) good information to share and I love me some good role play and mead. If we cannot work IL out, we will have to go to DC. Hopefully we will be able towork it out so we can go to the event and back to IL with Dave and Jenelle so we could have it done Monday but we will see.

Personally, I'd put marriage over Nero, especially with the wonky political climates surrounding your union. Congratulations!
