I didn't want to interrupt the in-game post about the upcoming PC meeting with out of game chatter, so I thought that I would post this here.
First off, let me say that it's pretty awesome that you guys are planning a between-events meeting to discuss all the things we have going on. It feels pretty awesome on our end for us to see that you guys are really seeing the tipping point that exists at this point and want to give it some serious thought.
Second, once you have everything settled, we are intending to call this a one-day event. We will not be supplying plot or anything like that (thought there might be an NPC or two who tries to wrangle his way in), but we will sanction it as an event to both supply experience for it, to marshall it, and to make it so that any in-game combat or other activities that occurred would count.
The second part is at your option. If you would prefer to have this take place without receiving experience and without any combat that occurred having sticking power, let us know. There would be no cost for this event, as it has been a long-standing policy that "a player's first event" is free AND that "a player's first event coordinated entirely by players in order to discuss ongoing plot questions" is also free. ... Okay, not buying that? Well, it's free as our way of saying thank you, then.

Bill you saved me the trouble of starting the out of game section of that thread.
I don't mind the idea of NPC's wiggling in, but I will say I was under the impression I could wear my street clothes for this gathering! lol. I agree with you also bill, about loving that we are doing this. I have been to similar gatherings when it was a group we adventured with, but never chapter wide and I love this!
What does everyone else think about calling it a one day and having plot attend to marshal? The point of this should not escalate to combat, but I don't mind if plot overhears our plans ;D

And to clarify the whole NPC thing...
There are NPC's who read the boards who might want to be a part of this. If they can determine where the meeting is taking place by reading the board, they might show up.
If the location is not posted, then the NPC's might contact the people organizing and try to get the info.
If the NPC's aren't able to get the information the same way that PC's would, then the NPC's will not be just "showing up" because they looked in a crystal ball or something.
I've been to team meetings before, too, back in the day. But I've never seen anything like this, either. It's awesome.

Bill...you crack me up. Personally I would love to have some NPC interaction and was going to extend an in game invite to at least Azayer once we had date and location figured out. Even if certain characters cant make it I think it would be in our best interests if at least one GM was present if for nothing else then to simply see what gets discussed and our plans so that you can have time to prepare for anything crazy we might do. Evan, I love the gasoline idea, but I think it's been tried. What we need is an army of formalists to purify the wells and cleanse the earth! That and a crap ton of Stake of Woes...... go ahead ass-n-toes see how long your non corp now! lol.
Bill, I figured you would mean anyone who could figure out where we were. and I agree with Evan that certain people were going to be invited. He thought Azayer and I figured Grilus lol. But however you look at it we definately would have welcomed you guys. I think it will be fun.

Jay: So, ummm... they're planning on burning the place to the ground next event.
Bill: Shit, how do we rep that?
Jordan: We're going to need a lot of papier mache...

Well, we've all been talking about the rennisance festival in another post. Why don't we have at the lagest Market Faire in the area? Let's face it, we'll all probably end up going at some point. And if I can talk NERO over a turkey leg... I'll be happy. XD

Well...for me Renfest is about spending time with as many friends from as many different larps as I can and I dont necessarily want to be commited to an IG meeting.
As for the one day idea....Its GOING TO HAPPEN...even if its just me all by myself at the cabin roasting meat over the fire!!
Street clothes!! Really Jenelle....really?? FIRED!
Although it might be cool if we did an OOG lunch type thing then got into character around dinner time and had the IG talks over food and into the night around the campfire....or Vice Versus.

I am torn on the idea of inviting NPCs, as I think the PCs need to work out some stuff on their own, and then roll out the decisions to the NPCs. One way or the other though, it is going to be awesome and unprecedented in my LARPing career ;-)
My original thought was street clothes too (EDIT: with a beard and moustache and wig, of course ;-) ), but if we can get a private cabin somewhere, I am down with costuming and combat and whatnot!

Thank you Joe!
A meeting in someones backyard meant jeans and a hoodie to me and though I am willing to don some costuming I guess I am not bringing all my usual stuff. This is a meeting, not a market faire.
As for the ren idea I agree with Evan. I will be too busy shopping to pay attention to a meeting. I don't mind interacting as my PC with other Nero players while there and have (yes I am a dork) done that before in years past at Bristol, but this trip is about buying stuff this year so I would rather the one day (you don't get all the meat to yourself Evan) and a ren trip then trying to do it at once.

So yeah folks, I think we've just started a one day without actually having one scheduled! Take that schedule! XD
And fair enough on the ren fest idea. It is a long drive for many. I'm a lucky guy that way. I'm down for just about anything so long as its not the 19-21 of august.

Yeah...someones back yard I would probably say street clothes would be ok....but if we are gonna get a cabin at a park then I feel its only appropriate that we do the whole thing. Costume, weapons, NPC's, basically make it a one day event instead of a weekend long event but with the premise of a PC driven meeting.
At least that is my take on it.

Bud,
I believe we have settled on the date of August 27th for the Meeting. And whether it gets sanctioned or not, I will continue to call it a meeting as that's what this really is. Those expecting mods or crunchies or something, that's not what this get together is for so please do not expect it. There is no garuantee that any plot member will be there or for any reason other then marshalling should it become necessary.
Jennele
I look forward to seeing everyone in a few weeks, and don't be surprised if I am doing homework during down time as school will be back in session.

If we do it at my house (Ann Arbor), I'd say for those that are of age, we could have a beer or two after the heavy duty in-game talk. People are free to set up tents or whatever in the back yard and crash overnight. There's plenty of room for it.

I would prefer that we do it at the closer location if that works but we will be there either way. Ann Arbor adds two hours each way for us roughly so I am sure you can understand why we would prefer the cabin closer.
